Feature · Pinning

Pin the items you live in

Pin projects, contacts, events, and billing records to your sidebar for one-click access, and star projects to float them to the top of your projects list.

What pinning does

Lavori has two related shortcuts for the work you return to most often. Sidebar pins give you a personal, quick-access list of specific records that appears near the top of the navigation sidebar. Project stars are a project-level flag that sorts starred projects to the top of the projects list.

Sidebar pins are personal and scoped to one organization. Each person curates their own pins, and the list you see changes when you switch the active organization. Nobody else sees your pins, and pinning an item never changes the item itself.

What you can pin to the sidebar

Sidebar pins work across the records you reference day to day. You can pin any of the following:

  • Projects
  • Contacts
  • Events
  • Quotes
  • Budgets
  • Invoices
TipPin a project, its budget, and its key contact together so everything for one job is a single click away.

Pinning from a record

Open a project, contact, event, quote, budget, or invoice and look for the pin control in the page header. Selecting it pins the record to your sidebar; selecting it again unpins it. The control reflects the current state, so a filled pin means the item is already pinned.

On a project, the pin and unpin action also lives in the project header menu, labeled Pin to sidebar or Unpin from sidebar depending on whether the project is already pinned. A short confirmation appears each time you pin or unpin.

Adding pins from the sidebar

The sidebar has a Pins section with an Add button. Selecting Add opens a picker that lists pinnable items grouped by type, each showing whether it is already pinned. Toggle any row to pin or unpin it on the spot.

A search box at the top filters across projects, contacts, events, quotes, budgets, and invoices by name or number, so you can find a specific record without scrolling. This picker is the fastest way to pin several items in one sitting.

How pins appear

Pinned items show in the Pins section near the top of the sidebar, each with an icon for its type and its name. Selecting a pin navigates straight to that record, and the active pin is highlighted when you are on its page.

Names and links stay current automatically. If you rename a pinned project, the pin label updates to match. If a pinned record is deleted or moves out of your current organization, it quietly drops off the list rather than leaving a broken link behind.

NoteWhen the sidebar is collapsed, pins appear as icons; hover to see the full name in a tooltip.

Managing your pins

Unpin an item the same way you pinned it: use the pin control on the record, the project header menu, or the toggle inside the Add pins picker. Removing a pin only affects your own sidebar.

Because pins are scoped to the active organization, switching organizations swaps in that organization's pin list. Your pins persist between sessions, so the list stays put until you change it.

Starring projects

Separate from sidebar pins, the projects list has a star column. Selecting the star on a project marks it as a favorite, and starred projects sort to the top of the list ahead of everything else.

Stars are a property of the project record and control list ordering, while sidebar pins are your personal quick-access shortcuts. The two are independent: starring a project does not pin it to the sidebar, and pinning a project does not star it.
